Music Ministries

Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord!

Ephesians 5:19

Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.

Martin Luther

Music is the heartbeat of worship at Living Christ - a ministry to and with musicians, who share their gifts on a variety of instruments and with voice, offering all kinds of music to create uplifting worship experiences.

Under the leadership of our gifted music ministry director, the following music ministry groups rehearse and offer their gifts September through June. During the summer months, soloists and small ensembles provide special music.

Adult Choir
The adult choir leads congregational singing every Sunday at
9:15 am worship and sings a wide variety of anthems, classical and modern. Rehearsals are each Sunday morning at 8:00 am.

Bell Choir
Adding a special timbre - sometimes mellow, sometimes flashy -
to help lift the spirit in praise, the bell choir rehearses Thursday evenings, 7:00 - 8:15 pm and plays on select Sundays.

We are blessed to hear a 23 rank mechanical action pipe organ each week, ably played by organist William Mueller. Worship is also led on the piano, along with an array of instruments. Proficient musicians are encouraged to share their gifts to enhance worship.

Children’s Choir
Children in first to fifth grade are introduced to the basics - and joy - of group singing, practicing Wednesdays during Advent and Lent, 5:15 – 6:00 pm, and singing on select Sundays.

Ephesians 6 Ministry (Sunday School) Music
Children from kindergarten through sixth grade participate in a brief music time each Sunday morning as part of Ephesians 6 Ministry (Sunday School), and also sing and play in their annual Christmas program.

Summer Music Camp
This four-day summer program brings in professional music teachers to help member children and young people develop their musical abilities, with the goal of enabling them to participate more fully in worship on an ongoing basis.

Daily Bible stories and a craft augment the music experience. Participants lead the worship music on a following Sunday. Older students play instruments and help with the younger children.

Workshops include Musikgarten (ages 3-6), choir, Orff and percussion (grades 1-6), strings (grades 1-8), brass (grades 5-12), guitar (grades 6-12) and movement and dance.
